RATES REMAIN THE SAME MAIN ROAD SUBSIDIES The general rates for the y*ar which were struck at the meeting of the Manukau Council on Tuesday v ill bo the same as last year in all ridings. In the hospital rate an increase of 1-lGd levied over the whole county is shown. In the Mangere Riding the rate will be Id in the pound, y i eld mg £6.582. as against £5,585 from the same rate last year*. The rate in the Papakura Riding is Id, providing £2,742 in revenue, a decrease of £7. The lowest rate is that in the Pa pat oe toe Riding, which is 7-Bd. yielding £4.662. b ngainst £4,432 last year. In the Pakuranga Hiding the levy of 1 2-8 d will produce £2,884 in revenue. The highest rate* in the county are in the Turanga and Walroa Ridings, where the levy will be lid. yielding £1,516 and £2.888 respectively. This 3*ear the hospital levy is £5.621, and a rate of 5-led *n the pound hag been struck. The rate last year wa.-j a ,d. It is estimated that the new rate will yield £6.346, which with a balance of £1,109 carried forward from last year, will provide a credit balance of £1.834.
