In the House of Commons, the Air Minister, Sir Samuel Hoare, in answer to a question, said that none. of the Imperial Airways’ present machines were fitted with slotted wings. The company was fully alive to the position, and had ordered the device for its new machines. Its planes had flown 3,000,000 miles without a serious mishap to a single passenger.
