ACTION AGAINST PAPER
RAILWAY SMASH STORY
DERAILMENT IN BENGAL (United P.A. —By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) CALCUTTA, Wednesday. The Government of Bengal is taking action against the newspaper “Forward” for its recent allegation that the relief gangs systematically killed Indians who were wounded in the recent railway smash. Tlio railway is also taking action on the paper’s statement that the disaster was due to the railway’s own neglect to look after the permanent way. At present there is no clue to the person who removed the rail. Following an outbreak at Fort Gloster, the authorities have decided to close one cotton and three* jute mills.
