GIFT AFTERNOON

Mrs. J. McGregor, of “Strathmore,” Clifton Road, was the hostess yesterday at a very successful gift afternoon p-iven in aid'of the sale of work to be held later by the St. George’s Women’s Society in Takapuna. Wearing an attractive gown of ficelle crepe de chine, Mrs. McGregor received her guests in the lounge, which was prettily decorated with bowls of spring flowers. Miss G. McGregor, who assisted her, wore a smart frock of black ring velvet. , . An amusing competition Was ~ held during the afternoon, and was won by Mrs. McMurtrie. Mrs. Wilkins, Mrs. Ewing, Mrs. J. Howie, and Miss McGregor contx-ibuted a number of musical and vocal items. Mrs. Morgan-Richards opened the many novel and useful gifts which were brought by the guests. Those present included: Mrs. Morgan-Ricliards, Mrs. Mills, Mrs. L. Horrocks, Mrs. Harrison, Mrs. Vaile, Mrs. Somerville, Mrs. Robert Frater, Mrs. J.
