POSITION IN CANTERBURY

Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The only event on the Canterbury markets since the week-end report is a recovei*y in the potato position, and it is not much more than noticeable. Prompts show little change, although sales are now on a £6 basis, as against £5 17s 6d a week ago August-Septembers, however, are definitely better, although only by 2s 6d a ton The f.0.b., s.i., price is £6 7s 6d. The Katoa sailed to-day with 3,027 sacks for Auckland, up to a couple of hundred sacks being seed. The Kurow’s departure is postponed until next week.
