WANGANUI RUGBY REP. PLAYER IS SUSPENDED

OUT FOR REST OF SEASON (From Our Own Correspondent) MARTON, Monday. A special meeting of the Rangitikei Rugby Sub-Union yesterday resolved after a discussion in committee to suspend until the end of the present playing season “Bert” Johnson, the Maori half-back, for alleged misbehaviour while at Foxton with the Rangitikei team last Saturday. Johnson has played for the Rangitikei Sub-Union and for the Wanganui Union for the past two seasons, and besides being a certainty for the Wanganui touring team, he has been in view for inclusion in the North Island Maori team.
