LONDON PRODUCE MARKET Under date July 14 the High Commissioner for New Zealand cabled from London the following market report:— Tallow.—The market is quiet at last quotations. Wool.—The sales continue well attended with competition brisk and opening rates maintained. Hemp.—Manna: With large supplies available and buyers taking no interest, values easier, closing ’J” grade, JulySeptember shipment, £37. sisal: The market is unchanged with very little business passing. Seilers, No. 1, £34 to £34 ss, ana No. 2, £32 5s to £32 10s, for July-September shipment. New Zealand: The marKct is dull and without interest. Values are unchanged. Apples.—The Turakina has arrived and the condition of the apples is good. The Maimoa commences to discharge to-day. Trade is better and prices are firmer, particularly for coloured apples. Brices: Sturmer, 10s to 12s 6d a case; Dougherty and Jonathan, 13s to 15s; Delicious, Stayman's, Winesap (bright) and Yates’s Seedling, 13s to 14s: Bailarat Seedling and Rome Beauty, 12s to 13s; Lippiatt, Salome and Statesman, 10s to 14s; Granny Smith, 15s to 18s. IN THE MARKET PLACE HEAVY ORANGE SHIPMENT CHEAPER EGGS A further decline in the price of eggs in the City Marts was recorded this morning. Stocks of oranges in Auckland stores were practically exhausted this morning. A heavy shipment arrives on the Waipahi from the Cook Group to-morrow. The Sydney boat this morning brought another consignment of citrus fruit. The bulk of this will be sold at to-morrow’s auctions. a Lemons are selling freely. Stocks of repacked ban.-nas are getting low and the market has hardened appreciably over the week. The demand for dessert apples and pears is dull. Cooker grades of apples meet with a keen demand. In the field and garden produce section the market is heavily supplied with onions, both Southern and Japanese, and values are lower than they have been for several weeks. Large supplies of eggs coming forward meet with only a moderate demand, and the market has a downward tendency. Farmers’ butter Is selling freely. KAURI GUM PRICES The Kauri Gum Control Board reports that prices obtained during the fortnight ended yesterday were as follows: White Gum.—Rescraped range, 2505; seven-eighth range, good, 210 s; washed Wairoa white, 70s; white range nubs, 38s to 40s; white chips and dust, 30s to 325. Black Gum.—Seven-eight steel, bold and good, 150 s; chips, medium, 18s to 21s. Swamp Gum.—Medium chalk, 2Ss; chalk nuts, 23s to 275.
