Calvert), b g, by Beau Brocade —White Flag. 13yrs, 9.3 (Tait) •> Twelve starters. Coming to the last fence Nyangay led the field front Oral Treaty, with Namera two lengths away in third place. Turning into the straight Namera passed Oral Treaty, and was on equal terms with Nyangay. Here the latter appeared to slip and collide with Namera. The latter, however, lost little ground. Inside the distance Nyangay and Namera were racing together, and excitement was raised to a high pitch. The two leaders raced head to head until within 30yds of the winning post. Nyangay then weakened, and Namera, drawing away, won a great race by half a neck, with Oral Treaty four lengths away third. Time. 6.11 i (a course record).
