REVIVAL IN LAND MARKET

INQUIRIES IN WAIKATO (From Our Otcit Correspondent.J HAMILTON, Saturday. There is a marked revival in the South Auckland market. Farmers appear to have abandoned the speculative spirit, and instead of “hanging on” to farms are working for an increased value. Everywhere the country looks wonderful, and on many farms in the Waikato winter fed has not been necessary. Although there are numerous inquiries for farms, in few instances are prospective purchasers able to furnish the full amount of deposits. Most owners, who have sunk a good deal of capital in improvements, are not willing to part with farms without good security or substantial deposit. To date all the June pay-outs of the variotNl dairy companies show another increase, and the rejoicing of farmers has reacted in the town, where tradespeople are expecting the latter stages of 1928 to be indicative of a coming “boom.”
