“MAN OVERBOARD”

fJ'HE cry of ‘‘Man Overboard!” brought the ferry-boat Makora to a stop in the harbour while she was on the 10 o’clock run from the city to Devonport last night. Hasty inquiries made among the passengers disclosed that the alarm had been raised by a high-spirited youth. As the boat approached Devonport, the police were summoned by four whistle blasts; but when the search was made by the constable it was found that the jester had disembarked without being noticed.
