Round the Churches
The Rev. Lionel H. Fletcher will speak at the Beresford Street Congregational Church to-morrow morning, and in the evening he will speak at the Prince Edward Theatre, Karangahapc Road, oil “A. Robber Chief’s Vow.” The singing will bo led by the church choir. The half-hour preceding the evening service will be devoted to community hymn singing. .* * * Holy Communion will be celebrated at the two morning services at St. j Mary’s, Parnell. Canon Percival James will be the preacher at the 11 o’clock service, and in the evening the headmaster of King’s College, Canon H. K. Archdall, will be the speaker. * * * At St. Matthew’s Church the Right Rev. Bishop Anderson will speak in the morning, and at 7 o’clock Mr. J. M. Hickson will speak. * * The Rev. W. Gilmore will speak in the morning at |he Edendale Presbyterian Church, and in the evening the monthly service of the Federation of Young People will be held. * * * Both morning and evening services at the Somerville Presbyterian Church will be conducted by the Rev. J. Puttison. Special services at the Unity Hall, Upper Queen Street, will be continued to-morrow afternoon, when Mr. R. A. Laidlaw will speak on “The Millenium.” Tho Rev. C. D. Scrimgeour will disclose startfing facts concerning unemployment in Auckland at the Methodist Central Mission to-morrow evening. Mr. A. Hamblin will speak at 7 p.m. at the France Street branch. At the Unitarian Church to-morrow evening the Rev. Albert Thornhill begins a new course of popular lecturettes expounding Sir Oliver Lodge’s latest book on science and human progress. The Associated Churches of Christ will hold meetings as usual at Ponsonby Road, Dominion Road, Richmond, Onehunga, Devonport. Avondale, Point Chevalier and Mount Albert. The First Church of Christ, Scientist, will hold a service as usual tomorrow. A testimony meeting will be held on Wednesday evening.
