PAPATOETOE HOCKEY CLUB

• ANNUAL BALL Streamers of red and black decked tho Papatoetoe Town Hall last evening when the members of the Papatoetoe Hockey Club held their second annual ball. Mr. Frank Thompson was M.C. The music was supplied by the Frolic Orchestra, and Mrs. R. G. Ross supplied several extras. A novel feature of the decorations was a hockey goal, erected at the end of the hall, carrying the club’s colours. The supper tables also held an abundance of black and red streamers. Among those present were: Mrs. T. R. Smytheman, wearing embossed crepe de chine in shades of silver grey. Mrs. F. B. Thompson, model of silver lace, over slip of shell pink faille, and shawl to harmonise. Mrs. Burrill, black georgette, with overskirt of Chantilly lace. Mrs. F. Knight, frock of pansy shaded crepe faille. • Mrs. R G. Ross, frock of ivory embossed georgette. Mrs. H. A. Bassett wore black chiffon velvet, with silver and diamante trimming. Mrs. Speedy, Hauraki Plains, model of wild rose georgette with reliefs of silver. Mrs. Geo. Runciman, frock of strawberry silk crepe. Mrs. Batchelor, frock of saxe blue silk marocain. Miss M. Gubb, frock of henna satin, with posy trimmings. Miss V. Burrill, sealing wax red, with trimming of ecru lace. Miss G. Muncaster, frock of powder blue crepe de chine. Miss E. Mayall, dawn pink taffeta, with trimmings of gold. Miss Ivy Smytheman, forget-me-not blue crepe alonza. Miss Rona Lipscombe, orange crepe de chine, with motifs of silvei\ and shawl to match. Miss J.
