BRILLIANT FUNCTION A blaze of colourful decorations transformed Scots Hall last evening, when the Auckland University Law Students’ Society held its 11th annual ball. Provocative little coloured lights winked - friendly eyes from a hundred different corners, seeming to whisper an invitation to the palm sheltered lounges and cosy nooks. Bamboo, in all its feathery prettiness, gave a soft finish to the walls and stage, and ferns and balloons added to the delightful decorative scheme. An excellent orchestra was in attendance. Among those present were: Lady Stringer, chenille embossed georgette gown of deep turquoise blue, with ermine wrap. Airs. R. Algie, bouffant frock of coral pink taffeta, with skirt in three tiers. To remove a grease-spot from an electric-pleated frock, cover the spot thickly with boracic acid, over the powder place a handkerchief and leave it there overnight. In the morning scrape off the powder and the grease-spot will have vanished.
