ALL-BRITISH RECITAL HANSARD-BAIRD CONCERT A programme to be devoted entirely j to the works of British composers, including compositions by Aucklanders, will be given by Amy Hansard, L.R.A.M., mezzo contralto, and Madame Baird and her dance pupils, in the Lewis Eady Hall on Monday evening. Miss Jean Allen, violinist, will be an assisting artist. With a programme of such a varied nature a very enjoyable concert should result. In addition to songs by Miss Hansard, whose capabilities as a vocalist are well known, a number of songs interpreted by dances will also bo given The compositions by Aucklanders will also add interest to an excellent and very commendable type of entertainment. Mr. Leo Whittaker will be the accompanist. DIXIELAND CABARET GALA CARNIVAL TO-NIGHT The new Dixieland Dance Band will provide the music for dancers at the Dixieland Cabaret at the Saturday gala carnival to-night. The well known Dixieland floor, and the pleasant surroundings for the comfort of the patrons, ensure a very happy evening. A spectacular Winter Show ball will bo held at Dixieland next Wednesday evening. There will be numerous cabaret items, including the new Heebie Jeebies dance, by Miss Yvonne Arlen and Mr. Colin Shorter. LUNA PARK OPEN THIS EVENING All the fun of the fair is promised at the popular Luna Park amusement area, which will be open again this evening, with free admission at the gates. At Luna Park there are side-shows and amusements for young and old. as well as thrills and excitement for those who want them. ELLERSLIE THEATRE “BEAU SABREUR” ON MONDAY After taking a vow never to look at another woman, but to die as a soldier of the Prench Foreign Legion in the Sahara, Major Beaujolais fell in love. Such is the story of “Beau Sabreur,” which will be shown on Monday night at the Southern Cross Theatre, Ellerslie. CLICK CLACK CABARET DANCING TO-NIGHT Enjoyable dancing is promised at the Click Clack Cabaret this evening, when the usual Saturday gala night will be held, with dancing from 8 p.m. to 12 p.m.
