GRAND
“WAY OF ALL FLESH” Declared the most convincingly human story ever transferred to the screen, “The Way of All Rlesh,” the first American-made starring vehicle of Emil Jannings, international screen idol, is now being shown at the Grand Theatre. Jennings interprets the role of August Schilling the man who, although the last to be suspected, went the way of all flesh. For twenty years August Schilling had been a good father and trusted servant of the bank. Then came a trip to the city, after years of longing. A train journey of strange happenings: a strange woman, a desire for something unconventional, and then the bonds entrusted to his care, missing. Belle Bennett, famous for her “Mother .Machree” portrayal, plays Jannings’ wife with a sympathetic understanding that is declared inspirational. * Phyllis Haver, epitomisation of blonde loveliness, is the other woman. A full supporting programme is also being shown*
