LYRIC “SALLY IN OUR ALLEY” ; “Sally in Our Alley,” which is now : being 1 shown at the Lyric Theatre with ! Shirley Mason in the title role, is a clean, sweet, wholesome story that ' men, women and children alike will dei light in seeing. Life in the tenement district is expertly portrayed in this moving tale. The human touches in this picture alone make it outstanding with splendid scenes and marvellous acting i thrown in for good measure. ! The story concerns a little tenement ! waif, Sally Williams, portrayed by Shirley Mason, who, after her mother's death it adopted by three bachelors, played by Alec Francis as a Scotsman, William H. Strauss as a Jew, and Paul Panzer as an Italian. The quartet lead a happy life until a wealthy aunt takes Sally from her humble home and introduces her into a life of luxury and ease. But Sally longs for her former friends, particularly Jimmie Adams, her sweetheart. The climax is reached when Sally must decide whether to give up her old life or return to her former happy home. She accepts the latter course and the story ends with Sally and Jimmie planning their future lives together. “Cradle Robbers” and a full supporting programme is also being shown.
