SIX CARGOES OF OIL
BIG SHIPMENTS FOR WELLINGTON fSpccial to THE SUN) WELLINGTON, Thursday. No fewer than six oil tankers will have discharged their cargoes at Miramar by the end of this month. The first, the Union Company’s motor-tanker Otokia. arrived on July 2 from San Pedro, with nearly 8.000 tons of fuel oil. She was followed on July 3 by the Vacuum Oil Company’s tanker Plume, from San Francisco. After pumping portion of her cargo of motor spirit into the company’s tanks at Miramar the Plume left for Melbourne and Sydney. The next tanker due is the Shell Company’s Scalaria, 5.683 tons, which is expected next Wednesday with a full cargo of bulk motor spirit from San Francisco. The same company has two other tankers on the way to Wellington. The Ranella, 5.590 tons, is due on July 25, and the Petricola, 5,880 tons, is due on July 31. The Union Company's chartered motor-tanker, O. A. Knudsen, with 11.888 tons of fuel oil. is due from San Pedro on July 24. and will pump the w'hole of her cargo into the company's tanks at Miramar.
