GOVERNMENT’S ACTION PROTEST FROM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE An emphatic protest was recorded yesterday by Auckland Chamber of Commerce members against the Government “unduly curtailing and interfering” with private trading. Tho council was authorised, on the motion of Mr. A. G. Lunn, to take, regardless of political consequences, whatever steps it might consider necessary, either in conjunction with the 1928 committee or otherwise, to secure redress, and to report to a further meeting within three months. . The fact that the 21 indictments drawn up by the 1928 committee had been proved, suggested Mr. H. W. Hudson, who seconded, did not nearly indicate the necessity for reform.
