DESTITUTE MAN SAVED FROM HANGING ATTEMPTED SUICIDE CHARGE Press Association WELLINGTON, Thursday. A labourer, Reginald Nelson Winford White, aged 41, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon with having attempted to commit suicide tlii.3 morning. Senior-Sergeant Scott said that White was a married man who lived with his family at Karori. They were destitute, and this morning accused bade his family farewell and, taking a clothes line with him, went into the bush. He put the line over a tree and then, tying one end round his neck, jumped off the branch. Another person saw him, however, and released him. White wa3 remanded for a week.
