GRAIN IMPORTATIONS
POWERS OF PROHIBITION Press Association. WELLINGTON, Thursday. Gazetted to-night are regulations prohibiting the importation of the following goods from the Commonwealth of Australia: From the States of Queensland and 'Western Australia: Oats, barley, maize (including maize ground or crushed, but not otherwise manufactured), hay, straw, and chaff, save with the consent of the Minister of Customs. From any State in the Commonwealth other than Queensland and "Western Australia: Oats, barley, maize (including maize ground or crushed, but not otherwise manufactured), hay, straw, and chaff, save with the consent of the Minister of Agriculture. The following Orders-in-Council, dealing with the importation of goods from the United States and the Commonwealth, are revoked • March 4. 1924; July 30. 1924; December S. 1924: August 30, 1926; and October 22, 1926. th ? exception of restrictions on importation of ground or crushed rt reg^latlo^s practically similar to the above have been in force since 1924. To date, as tar as Auckland merchants have been concerned, the Minister of Customs has not exercised his right of veto on clean cereals.
