Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Thurs. Foreign rates of exchange on July 12, compared with par rates, or as averaged first half of 1914, are:—

WAIHI.—The following information has been on bled to London For the period ended June 30, comprising 22 crushing days, 18,107 tons of ore were crushed for «'i result of 6,843 fine ounces of gold, and 13,095 fine ounces of silver; this includes 2.463 tons mined from the Grand Junction area, which yielded 742 ounces of gold, and 3,670 ounces of silver. In the No. 9 level in the south branch of Dreadnought lode, driving east, the next 30ft assays 20s 6d a ton; the width of lode varies from 2ft to sft. In the No. 10 level in the south branch of the Dreadnought lode driving east, the next 23ft assavs 2Ss 9d a ton: lode is about 3ft wide: the drive crossed the boundary at 35Sft. The Dominion lode at 150 ft west junctions with a calcite lode ISft wide coming in from the north diagonally and has cut off the value, driving is suspended and we are preparing to commence stoping. In the No. 14 level, driving east on the Martha lode, the next 25ft assays 4s 3d a ton. The No. 4 diamond drill hole is down 291 ft, boring is very difficult The property of Mr. 11. L. Troutbeck. tin- well-known Meadow brook farm, will be offered for the sale as advertised in the leerless Hall, Rotorua, on Saturdav. Julv 21. The auctioneers, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., advise that the owner desires to sell under the hammer and advise anyone interested to inspect the property and obtain full particulars prior to the auction.
