At the wool sales, 11.16 S bales were offered, of which 5,096 were New Zealand and 3,762 Australian. There was a miscellaneous selection, chiefly of speculators’ wools. Good competition was the order, and opening- rates were maintained. Continentals buying Merinos and the Home trade securing crossbreds and slipes. Withdrawals were frequent, owing to the high reserves. New Zealand: Haldon, WFM, 30d. The Bradford market is not actively affected by the London firmness. Quotations: 64’s, 53d; 60’s, 51d; 56’s, 42d; 50’s, 32d; 46’s, 261 d; 40 s, 25id. NEW ZEALAND’S FRUIT EXPORT (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association.) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Thursday. Mr. H. E. Stephens, of the New Zealand Fruit Board, states that during the season he had' 10 cargoes of New Zealand apples discharged at Southampton and railed to London, owing to the more rapid handling. He will visit Hamburg to "endeavour to arrange direct shipments next season.
