POTPOURRI DANCE BUILDING FUND EFFORT Balloons of every hue and graceful palms, streamers of red and black and light shades of cardinal red, lent an air of warmth and comfort to St. Oswald’s Hall, Ellerslie, on Tuesday night, when about 100 couples were present at a “pot-pourri” dance. Mrs. W. H. Somervell, Mrs. W. Diggins and Mrs. Darby organised the dance, which has been the means of. adding considerably to the building fund of St. Oswald’s. Those present included: Mrs. Somervell wore a gown of black georgette relieved with silver lace. Mrs. Diggins was wearing a black ring velvet gown with a silver ornament. QUEEN CARNIVAL DANCE AT CLICK CLACK One of the many dances which have been held recently in connection with the Point Chevalier Queen Carnival for the purpose of raising funds for the Hally bur ton Johnstone sports grmyids, was held in the Click Clack Cabaret last evening. The dance, which was to raise the votes of Aliss Dorothy Holmes, the sailing and football queen, was a success. Aliss Holmes was dressed in a frock of black and silver diamante, with a band of white fur round the hem. Alembers of the committee who were present were Airs. A. E. Shade, in a frock of ivory satin and silver lace; Mrs. Sherer, in a frock of beige georgette with bronze and blue relief; and Aliss Dudley, in a frock of black ring velvet.

AN “AT HOME" HOLY TRINITY CLUB OTAHUHU FUNCTION Baskets of ferns suspended from the ceiling, from which twined festoons of lycopodium, and masses of feathery nikau fronds, that hid the walls, made the Otahuhu public hall a very attractive place on Tuesday evening, when the Holy Trinity Social Club held its eighth annual “At Home.” The stage had been decorated with tall palms, and these were also used with striking effect in each corner of the hall. Gaily-coloured banks of cyclamen graced the walls. The music was supplied by the club orchestra, under the leadership of Mrs. F. Andrew, and a number of extras were supplied by Airs. Rushworth, Misses F. Baverstock, Hill, and M. Seel. The AI. were Messrs. H. Lovell, IT. Hall, T. Day,- and R. Brown. The duties of chaperones were carried out by Airs. R. B. Todd, Alayoress, Airs. G.
