FINAL PERFORMANCE THIS EVENING Tho final performance of Mr. Maurice Moscovitch in “The Silent House” will take places this evening at His Majesty’s Theatre. The members of his company will hoave for Sydney by the Ulimaroa to-mcirrow. Another large audiexace was thoroughly intrigued last evening by the evil and wily “heathen; Chinee.” as presented by Mr. MoscoNttitch, and the mysterious happenings fai the Silent House. . Mr. Roger Barry gave aaaother excellent characterisation in the* role of the carefree young Englishwnan wno treated the Chinese doctor and his beloved joss with equal contempt. The distinction of being the only girl in the production fell to Miss Bertha Riccardo, the much-abitised and exceedingly attractive young heroine. Mr. Nat Maddison was again well cast as the faithful Chinese retainer of the hero. Mr. George BlunflL Mr. Reginald Newson. Mr. Guy Hastings, and Mr. Richard Webster were a mong the others in the cast. “The Silent House” is an excellent example of the type of melodrama, that Mr. Moscovitch has made so ptsculiarly his own In spite of the fact that “U dicle Tom’s Cabin” has played for *®ve months in New York, three in London, and has had amazingly succession openings in Toronto, Oslo, Berlin. Zurich and Barcelona, it has only playotl road show engagements in the United States.
