N.Z. BREWERIES IMPROVE
THOUGH the volume of business recorded is small, the market for all the better classes of investments on ’Change is firm. Several shares register an upward move—ment.
A firm tone is registered in banks. Unions of Australia are slightly firmer with no sellers and steady buyers in at £ls. Insurances are quiet with no movement in the market. More attention is being paid to shipping scrip. but the market for most shares in the section shows little life. In the miscellaneous section buyers of Auckland Amusement Parks withdrew at mid-day, leaving sellers at 7s 6d unsupported. Sellers of Checker Taxis have weakened a. further 43 to 113, but buyers at 55 are not-respon-sive. Taranakl Oils are slightly weaker. with sellers at 10s 6d supported by buyers at 10s Id. Buyers of. Breweries Jumped Is at mid—day to 43s 613. to find sellers still of! the market.
V\'ilsons Cements remain firm, littlv. short of the peak levels of two months ago, with steady buyers in at 385. The market for W'aihis continues to advance. buyers this morning nloving up to 128 3d, with sellers holding for 12s 6d. A. healthy demand continues to be registered in the market for Government and local body debentures; 1939 4; per cent. bonds and stocks were dealt with this morning outside the call-room at £9B 10s.
