Koseveare was appointed Moderator for the next six months, at yesterday’s meeting of the Auckland Presbytery. Mr. N. I. Price consulting engineer, of Sydney, arrived in Auckland this morning by the Ulimaroa to spend a holiday with relatives. Mr. R. M. Brown, formerly a stock buyer in Edinburgh for the Smithfield Markets, has been appointed pig- testing officer to the Massey Agricultural College. Mr. Bruce Elliot, son of Sir George Elliot, has passed his LL.B. examination at Cambridge. He was for a time with Russell, Campbell and McVeagh, solicitors, of Auckland . Mr. H. V. Schofield, export manager for the Exide Batteries Co., of England, arrived by the Ulimaroa from Sydney this morning. He will leave for Wellington this evening. Mr. E. W. Griffiths, who resigned from the vice-presidency of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association last evening, was presented with a gold watch by the delegates. Mr. F. L. C. Scrinener, B.S.C. (Agric.), of the South-Eastern Ag.rieutural College (University of London), at Wye, Kent, has been appointed lecturer in Soil and Inorganic Chemistry at the Massey Agricultural College.—P.A. The Primate, Archbishop Averill, returned to Auckland yesterday after visiting the Thames district.
