Griffiths, who resigned from the vice-presidency of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association last evening, was presented with a gold watch by the delegates. Mr. F. L. C. Scrinener, B.S.C. (Agric.), of the South-Eastern Ag.rieutural College (University of London), at Wye, Kent, has been appointed lecturer in Soil and Inorganic Chemistry at the Massey Agricultural College.—P.A. The Primate, Archbishop Averill, returned to Auckland yesterday after visiting the Thames district.
