REMUERA RATEPAYERS

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION It was announced at the Remuera Central Ratepayers’ Association’s meeting in the Remuera Library Hall last evening that there were 50 financial members enrolled and there was a similar number who were interested in the work of the association. A motion protesting against the action of the Citjr Council in refusing councillors permission to inspect legal documents relating to the civic square, was passed. Mr. H. P. Taylor spoke of the work of ratepayers’ associations in other suburbs of Auckland. Officers were elected as follows: President. Mr. R. Benson; vice-presi-dent, Mr. E. Morton; secretary, Mr. J. Graham; committee, Messrs. W. C. Coutts, J. R. Simpson, J. McCullough, T. W. Saunders, 11. Oldham and Baker. Power was given the committee to increase its number to 14 members
