SONG AND DANCE
BAIRD-HANSARD RECITAL A song and dance recital to be given by Miss Amy Hansard, L.R.A.M., and Madame Baird and her pupils, assisted by Miss Jean Allen, violinist, at Lewis Eady’s Hall on Monday evening next, should prove interesting. The programme will be made up from the works of contemporary British composers. As a mezzo-soprano Miss Hansard is favourably known ‘n Auckland and with the assistance of Madame Baird and her pupils a first-class entertainment will be assured. Violin solos will also be contributed by Miss Jean Allen, and Mr. Leo Whittaker will be the accompanist. Seats may be booked at Lewis Eady, Ltd., or with Madame Baird or Miss Hansard.
The newest Wallace Beery-Raymond Hatton co-starring comedy is to be titled “The Big Killing,” according to word from the Paramount Hollywood Studio. We have often seen stories on the screen of the feuds of mountaineers in the Kentucky hills, but this is the first time that a feud has been treated in any other but a serious vein. Mary Brian plays the girl in the picture.
