ADMITTED TO PROBATION Press Association HASTINGS, To-day. At the Magistrate’s Court this morning, Hilda Edith Ballard, aged 20 years, was found guilty of three charges of obtaining goods to the value of £sl ISs bj r false 1 pretences from various Napier businesses. She was admitted to probation for two years.
Joseph Brennan Warehain was admitted to probation for three years on four charges of failure to account for a total of £79 Is 3d, to Philip Schniedeman. Wellington. The police stated the accused was an employee of the firm and failed tc* send his banking return to Wellington. His employers came to Hastings to find that accused had disappeared. He was arrested in Auckland.
