AGAINST NELSON

PRIVY COUNCIL DECIDES PETITION DISMISSED BANISHMENT FROM SAMOA (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian P.A. —United Service) Reed. 11.34 a.m. LONDON, Monday. The Lord Chancellor (Viscount Hailsham), Viscount Dunedin, Viscount Sumner. Bord Darling and Lord Justice Atkin, as the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, dismissed Mr. O. F. Nelson’s petition for special leave to appeal against the decision and the banishment order of Sir George Richardson, formerly Administrator of Samoa. The Hon. Richard Stafford Cripps, K.C., for the petitioner, denied that Mr. Nelson had been concerned with the Mau organisation propaganda, and argued that Nelson’s exile was contrary to all established law and natural justice. The committee did not call Mr. W. A. Jowitt, K.C., appearing for the Crown as respondent.
