THE WINDSOR PLAN
ANOTHER TRIAL NEEDED The New Zealand Motor Trade As- j sociation has conducted a trial of the j Windsor plan for stabilising the values j of used cars. The data covers about two quarters' sales, but as the results were not very satisfactory, it has been decided to conduct another trial for three months. The Windsor plan is operated by collecting details of the prices of cars of various ages and striking an average. It originated in Windsor, Canada, and has been worked in Great Britain, South Africa and Aus- ! tralia. The idea is to prevent unwise j allowances in trading in used cars. The Windsor plan has been in operation in Sydney for some time now and every fortnight there is published in the papers a detailed list of cars traded in and the average price allowed.
