A meeting of the executive of tb Tauranga Agricultural and Pastwil Society was held on Saturday. Great satisfaction was expressed ir. connection with the Railway Depan ment putting on a farmers’ spetir train from the Bay of Plenty dura: the Auckland Winter Show week. Mr. Hunt was appointed a deletra: to attend the conference of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Aanociation to be held at Auckland du::nr show week. It was decided to send thr following remit. “That this conference views will favour the suggestion of Mr. A that the Government pay freight or. fertilisers from overseas and that the proposal bo given favourable consideration.” Messrs. G. Lever, W. T. London and R. J. Gilmore’s names are to be «*’ to the Royal Agricultural and Pa*t>n Society to be placed on the .iudrw’ list. The following resolution was carried:—“That this executive considers the extension of the East Coast mtia trunk railway line eastward from Taueatua of far greater national importance than the construction of the Re-torua-Taupo line, inasmuch as it will be serving a large extent of elo**lysettled country, rich in production, and which will assure a sound financial return as a justification for its constrwtion.
