MEMBERSHIP GROWS
KING’S COLLEGE OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION Increased membership of the King’s College. Old Boys’ Association has brought the total to 650, including two life and 10 foundation members. The committee has been active in reviving social functions it was reported at the annual meeting. In February cricket matches with the school were played, three elevens of old boys taking part. A match against old boys of Christ’s College was played at Middlemore. A three-act play, “Lilies of the Field,” produced with the cooperation of some of Auckland’s leading amateurs, proved successful, £228 being added to the school swimming bath fund. Reference is made in the report to the death of one of the members, Arthur Major, son of the former headmaster, Mr. C. T. Major. The visit of Canon H. K. Archdall to Tauranga, when he organised a local reunion of old boys in the districts, is expected to prove of benefit. The credit balance is now shown at £66. as against £ 8 at the opening of the financial year.
