MAJESTIC
“SILK LEGS” A very attractive programme is being presented at the Majestic Theatre, where a high-class pictorial and musical entertainment is being offered to Auckland picturegoers. Heading the pictorial programme is “Silk Legs,” a very bright and modern story with Madge Bellamy in the leading role. Miss Bellamy is cast as an up-to-the-minute business woman, who, for all her ideas of business, manages to retain her feminine charm and uses it in a drastic manner to the consternation of those concerned. “Silk Legs” is an intensely human story of the fight of a young and beautiful hosiery drummer who, despite the rigours of the road, retains her sparkling vitality and wins the man she loves after a long and adventurous struggle. The supporting programme is outstanding, in that there is not only one attraction on it, but five attractions, one and all being extremely interesting. First in importance is the first actual photographs of the “Bremen” when she was wrecked at Greenley Island, and the aviators who were stranded on the Labrador Coast. There is also a unique Nature study film showing the life of an inquisitive jackdaw; “Vintage,” a film showing the wine industry from its first stage to the last; a Majestic News, with the latest topical budgets, and last, but not least, “Jack and Jilted,” a very merry Fox comedy. Miss Christina Ormiston, the wellknown Auckland soprano, appears on the stage, and sings a charming little lullaby, “E>at Fat Lil’ Fellow with His Mammy’s Byes,” and Schubert’s “Serenade.” Miss Ormiston's charming personality and beautiful stage manner has made her a favourite with everyone, and her appearance is always the signal for enthusiastic applause. Mr. Whiteford-Waugh and his Majestic Orchestra will give a delightfully bright musical programme, specially featuring “Per Omnes” (Chomel), as their overture.
