MUNICIPAL CONCERT

TOWN HALL TO-MORROW The concert to be given in the Town Hall to-morrow evening will be notable for the first appearance of Miss Sarah Stagpoole, a young- soprano vocalist of great promise. She will sing “Homing-,” “Lament of Isis,” “The Slave Song,” and “O Western Wind.” Mr. Fred Bowes will play the cornet solo, “Zelda,” and Mr. McLennan the flute solo, “By the Brook.” The band numbers are “Cavalry of the Clouds” march, “Egmont” overture, Weber’s “Invitation to the Valse,” “Reminiscences of Beethoven,” “The Dance of the Hours,” “The Turkish Patrol” and “Reminiscences of all Nations.” Seats can be booked; see advertisement pages. CHARITY BALL AT DIXIELAND TO-MORROW Great preparations are already in progress for the big charity ball to be held in Dixieland Cabaret tomorrow evening. The organisation is in the har|ds of Mrs. A. Follick, a well-know r n social worker, who is always ready to assist in a worthy cause. It is hoped that, as a result of this ball, a substantial sum will be raised to assist the poor of Auckland. Special dances have been prepared, a ballet trained, and, with numerous cabaret items, a perfect floor, and music by the newly organised Dixieland Dance Band, a very happy and successful evening’s entertainment seems assured. LUNA PARK OPEN FOR WINTER SHOW All the novelties and attractions of Luna Park will be open again to the public when this well-known amusement area reopens for the Winter Show period, commencing to-morrow. The scenic railway will again be the centre of interest and excitement, and all the other attractions, such as the dodge-’em, the merry mix-up. the scenic caves, fun factory, and various side-shows, should also be well patronised. The park will be open every evening and also on the two Saturday afternoons.
