SCHOOLS FOR SUBURBS
GRAMMAR BOARD SEEKS SITES PROPERTY AT KOHIMARAMA The Auckland Grammar School Board, expecting that rapid settlement will take place in the districts round Tamaki and Panmure, is already looking about, at Kohimarama and elsewhere, for sites for new schools. “If wo buy those sites,” said Professor A. P. W. Thomas, this morning, “it does not mean that we shall build immediately. The new’ schools will probably not be required for 10 years yet.” One site of about 12 acres at Kohimarama has been inspected by the board, which afterwards communicated with the Minister of Education regarding the price. Negotiations are now at a standstill until the Minister’s reply is received.
