RAILWAY CONFERENCE

TRAFFIC MANAGERS MEET Subjects concerning the administration of the railways are being discussed to-day in Auckland at a conference of executive officers. Mr. E. Casey, Divisional Superintendent, North Island Railways. is holding his quarterly conference, when many subjects making for better running of the railways are thoroughly explored. Attending the conference to-day are the following district traffic managers: ~ Messrs. J. G. Rickerby (Auckland), J. Cameron (Wellington), P. H. Hartland (Wanganui) and J. Hutchison (Ohakune). New Foundation For Bandstand.—A new concrete foundation is being laid under the bandstand in Albert Park. Fho old foundation had completely rotted away, so the upper portion of the stand was held up with trestles so that the workmen could complete the job.
