ENGLISH FRUIT MARKET
The New Zealand Fruit-export Control Board has received the following cablegiam from its London representative, Mr. H. E. Stevens:— The consignment of apples discharged from the Mahia at Hull arrived in good condition and averaged 11s 7d a case. Apples landed from the Somerset and Tongariro at London showed slight waste, especially Statesmans. The Zealandic’s shipment arrived in good condition, prices being: Sturmers, Pioneer, and Rome Beauties, 10s to 12s a case; Statesman, Dougherty and Delicious, 12s to 14s: P. Barry pears. 4s 6d a tray. The board was also advised by Messrs. B. and J. Shaw, of Hull, that prices received for the Mahia’s shipment, which was loaded at Nelson, were as follow: Statesman, extra fancy, 11s 6d to 15s a case; fancy. 12s to 14s 6d; Sturmers. extra fancy, 10s to 13s: fancy, lls 6d to 12s; good. 10s to 11s 6d; other varieties, 13s to 14s 9d.
