TAXI’S LEAP THROUGH FENCE AT STATION

THE unusual activities of a taxi at the railway station this morning disturbed the quiet atmosphere of the platform just before the arrival of the Limited. With a leap which would not have disgraced a greyhound it jumped the curb and nosed its way through the board fence which divides the platform from the roadway outside.

Pieces of board flew in all directions. People waiting for friends on the train did the same. No damage was done to the taxi, which was evidently in gear when the driver began to start the engine.
