EMPIRE
“THE 13TH JUROR” Anna Q. Nilsson and Francis X. Bushman are the stars in the dramatic story “The 13th Juror,” which will be shown at the Empire Theatre this evening. “The Thirteenth Juror” is a brilliant story of the lasting friendship of two men, even though the pleasure of one causes heartaches for the other. It is a perfect screen version of the sensationally famous stage play “Counsel for the Defence,” which was the talk of Broadway when it first was produced in New York by Henry Irving Dodge, the author. The plot of the story surrounds the unalloyed friendship of a prominent and wealthy attorney who loves the wife of his best pal who has not been so successful in the business world. Their friendship continues, even after the marriage of Marsden and Helen Fraine, and not until George Quinn, a political boss, infers relations between Desmond and the pretty wife, does doubt creep in.
