ENGINE OFF LINES

SUBURBAN TRAINS HELD UP SHUNTING MISHAP Auckland railways were disorganised for a time on Saturday owing to a mishap to an engine. While shunting in the yards, the engine left the rails at the points, thereby disorganising the service from about 3 p.m. until 4.25 p.m. The Swanson train which leaves at 3.26 p.m. did not leave until 4.29 p.m. There was a similar delay in regard to the Papakura train, which was timed to leave at 3.38 p.m., but did not get away from the Auckland station until 4.29 p.m. Quick work on the part of the railway staff enabled the engine to be removed, and no further delays w T ere reported.
