FALL PROVES FATAL

MISHAP ABOARD TRAWLER A fireman named John Veal, who was injured on board Sanford, Ltd.’s trawler Serfib on May 23, died in the Auckland Hospital yesterday. Mr. Veal injured his spine through falling from the deck of the trawler on to the concrete floor of the cool store chamber in the hold, about 15* feet. An inquest opened this morning before Mr. W. R. McKean. S.M., was adjourned after formal evidence of identification had been taken. There are no known relatives of Mr. [Veal in tli© potniqion. -
