HALF-CENTURY’S PRACTICE GOLDEN WEDDING CELEBRATED When Mr. Samuel Hesketh arrived in Auckland by the Devonshire on February 7. 1863, Auckland was ringing with the news of the wreck of H.M.S. Orpheus on the Manukau bar. To-day Mr. and Mrs. Hesketh are celebrating their golden wedding. Mr. Hesketh is the senior partner in the legal firm of Hesketh, Richmond, Adams and Cocker. For over half a century he has practised his profession. He was born in Manchester 78 years ago. Mrs. Hesketh, who is aged 77, was born in Ireland, and came to the Dominion at an early age. There are seven children, the sons being Mr. H. R. Hesketh. of Auckland; Messrs. F. N. and R. F. Hesketh, of Hamilton; and Mr. H. L. Hesketh. of Tauranga. The daughters are Mrs. Archibald Tudehope, of Tauranga; Mrs. A. Frater, of Epsom; and Miss M. H. Hesketh. of Epsom.
