Quiet Tone on ’Change
FIRM DEMAND FOR BONDS A x exceptionally light volume of business was recorded Tk on ’Change this morning. A quiet tone is registered m most sections.
T.lttle movement is recorded in the hanking- section, though most shares continue to meet with a firm demand. In coals, Hikurangis are sought on a firm market. Seilers of the ordinaries this morning at 5s 9d were supported ny buyers improved to 5s 3d. Sellers of Pukemiros were not quoting this morning but buyers were firm at 655. Auckland Amusement Parks are registering a little more activity; sellers this morning dropped to 7s 6d and buyers improved to 4s 3d at midday.
Holders of Checker Taxis weakened to 13s, finding support at 5s 6d. Wilsons Cements are firm. with sellers at 38s 3d supported by buyers at 37s 6d. New Zealand Government bonds and inscribed stock are in good tone with few sellers and firm buyers. Business yesterday afternoon; New Zealand Insurance, 42s 6d: X.Z. Breweries (deb.), 22s lOd.
