Mrs. A. L. Wheeler, of Leeds town, is visiting Auckland. Mrs. E. AI. Masters, of Hamilton, is at present in Auckland. Aliss I. Couch has returned to Auckland after visiting Wanganui. Mrs. W. H. Jacob, of Kiwi tea, has returned from a visit to Auckland. Mrs. W. A. Graham, of Hamilton, is the guest of Mrs. Pond in Remuera. Mrs. G. Brown has returno*! to Well-* ington after spending some months in Auckland. Miss Dawson, of Auckland, is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Grant, Bon View, Ngaruawahia. Mrs. Finney, of Nelson, who has been visiting Auckland and Wellington, is now staying with her sister, Mrs. Hathaway, at Masterton. * * * Mrs. H. R. Smith, of Christchurch, was the guest of Mrs. H. D. Bunby, of Devonport, prior to her departure by the Niagara for Honolulu. Mrs. Moser has returned to Masterton from a short visit to Auckland, where she stayed with her sister, Mrs. Trevor Thomson, Takutai Street, Parnell.
RECENT BRIDES
TALLENTINE—ARMSTRONG When Ida Agnes, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong, of Eden Terrace, was married to Joseph, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Tallentiine, of Paice Avenue, Dominion Road, on Tuesday evening last, she wore a frock of shellpink chenille georgette, draped at one side and held with a diamante buckle and a posy of orange blossom. Her veil of pale pink tulle formed a train, and she carried a shower bouquet. She was given away by her father. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Woolloxall in Trinity Methodist Church, Kingsland. Mr. Garland presided at the organ. Miss Alice Lucas and Miss Phyllis Gear attended the bride as bridesmaids. The former’s frock was of turquoise blue, and the latter’s of cyclamen, both frocks being fashioned of shot taffeta in early Victorian style. Silver posies at the shoulder and silver lace hems made dainty finishes. Their head-dresses were of silver ribbon and lace, shaped like a crown and trimmed with posies and streamers of silver ribbon. Sho\yer bouquets to tone were carried. Little Betty and Kathleen Halsall, of Te Aroha, attended as flower girls, wearing frocks of coral pink shot taffeta, trimmed with radium lace. They carried posies to tone. Mr. Ernest Tallentine, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr. William Armstrong, brother of the bride, was groomsman.
BRICE—HAMILTON The marriage of Miss Marie Hamilton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Hamilton, of Nelson, to Mr. Herbert Keen Brice, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Brice, of Nelson, was celebrated last week in Nelson Cathedral. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Dean Askew. The bride’s frock was of ivory ring velvet and georgette studded with diamante, and was fashioned with a train. Old vellum lace embroidered with silver formed the veil, and a bouquet of late roses, orchids, orange blossom, and maidenhair fern, was carried. She entered the church on the arm of her father. Miss Molly Brice, sister of the bridegroom, was first bridesmaid. Her frock was made in mid-Victorian style with a bodice of ring velvet and a flounced net skirt with an uneven hemline. Geranium pink was the colour chosen for her toilet. The second bridesmaid was Miss Marion Nahr. Her frock was made in the same “style as that of the first bridesmaid, the colour being light jade green. Both bridesmaids wore headdresses in the form of Juliet caps with long ostrich plumes to tone with their frocks. Posies of tulips and autumn leaves were carried. Little Miss Judith Ashby was dressed in pale lemon crepe de chine, and carried a posy to tone. Mr. lan Hamilton, cousin of the bride, attended as best man, and Mr. Bramley Brice, brother of the bridegroom, was groomsman. LA WRIE—McKENNA St. James’s Presbyterian Church, Pukekohe, was the scene of a pretty wedding yesterday between Charles Kaspar, second son of Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Laurie, of Pukekohe, and Mina Elizabeth, fifth daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. P. McKenna, also of Pukekohe. The Rev. S. Nixon officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. £3outar, wore a pretty frock of ivory crepe de chine, trimmed with silver lace and orange blossoms. Her veil was of Brussels lace. Her sister, Miss Jean McKenna, who attended as bridesmaid, wore a frock of powder blue crepe de chine, and a quaint tulle cap. Her bouquet was to tone. Mr. G. D. Lawrie, brother of the groom, was best man. The young couple left by motor-car for Taranaki. They will live at Edendale.

The engagement is announced of Catherine Dorothy, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Fox, Okato, to Rowland Oswald Colin, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Marks, Stanley Bay, Auckland.
The engagement is announced of Eileen Winifred, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Jackson, of New Plymouth, to Vernon John, third son of Mr. John Sowter, Eastbourne, England.
