QUIET AFTER TEMPEST
HAUTURU RETURNS THE Northern Steamship Company’s auxiliary vessel Hauturu, which had to shelter from the storm in Spirits Bay while on the trip from Onehunga to Hokianga, arrived at Onehunga to-day. Captain W. Robertson said he had never seen nastier seas than the vessel encountered on the outward trip. “Had we been caught in the breakers off Cape Maria,” he said, “we would have foundered.”
In spite of the difficult conditions, the crew did not miss a hot meal on the trip.
