W. R. Dobson, who is well known in Auckland, played in an inter-club match as No. 1 for Concord against Manly recently, and won 3 and 1 from Eric Apperly. W. R. Smith, a member of the Manly team and a visitor with the Kirk-Windeyer Cup this year, played in third place and won 1 up from H. N. King—by reason of an unplayable stymie on the 18th. The French professional championship was played in Paris this year. In the semi-finals Aubrey Boomer beat T. H. Cotton, one of the British hopes, 2 and 1, and the British veteran, J. 11. Taylor, beat Jack Smith, 1 up. In the final Boomer, who is a Jersey Islander, was too good for the veteran and won, 4 and 3.
