IN FANCY DRESS A successful plain and fancy dress ; ball was held under the auspices of the Mauku Croquet Club. ! The hall was prettily decorated. SURPRISE PARTY
A delightful evening was spent on Saturday, when Miss N. Coutts surprised Miss Jean Mac Kay with a large number of friends at the residence of Mrs. A. E. Storey, Warrington Road, Remuera. Mrs. Storey received the guests in a frock of figured ninon. Miss Jean Mackay wore a frock of black ring velvet and georgette. Miss G. Mackay’s frock of gold georgette was heavily beaded. Miss N. Coutts chose a frock of pink crepe de chine with silk net. Among those present were: Miss E. Clark, rose crepe de chine. Miss Molly Hoban, mauve taffeta. Miss P. Walling-Jones, ivory taffeta and silver lace. Miss L. Mcßae, apricot satin and beaded trimmings. Miss Z. Saunders, black velvet with pink trimmings. Miss D. Peters, blue satin. Miss Mavis McQuarrie, cherry velvet and diamante trimming. Miss M. Rush, blue crepe de chine and silver lace. Miss M. Hunter, green velvet with gold trimming. Miss E. Skeen, white crepe de chine. Miss T. McQuarrie, mauve crepe de chine and silver lace. Miss Marion McQuarrie, shot taffeta frock. f
