MAYOR OF WAIPAWA DIES FROM INJURIES
knocked down by LORRY LATE MR. H. M. RATHBONE Press Association WAIPAWA, To-day. The Mayor, Mr. H. M. Rathbone, w ho was the victim of a motor accident last evening, died this morning without recovering coniciousness. He was crossing the road on his way home when a motor-lorry, driven by TV F. Stanley, knocked him down, fracturing the base of hie skull and causing other injuries. The late Mr. Rathbone was 58 years old and he leaves a widow and a ero'wn-up family of four. He has been prominently identified with the civic life of the community for the past 30 years and he has been for seven years mayor. ____________
