SOCCER AFFAIRS

FALCON CUP DRAW THE CHATHAM CUP The draw for the first round of the Falcon Cup competition to be played on Saturday week was made at the meeting of the Management Committee of the. Auckland Football Association last evening, resulting as follows:—Tramways v. loser of the first round Chatham Cup game between Belmont and Y.M.C.A.: Glen Eden v. Northcote: Rangers v. Corinthians, Swanson v. Metropolitan, Onehunga v. North Shore, Manurewa v. Tamaki, Ponsonby, v. winner of Chatham Cup game. The Y.M.C.A. Club wrote complaining about the travelling which would have to be done by the Auckland Chatham Cup finalists. The New Zealand Council had decided that the Auckland finalists would travel to Whangarei to meet the North Auckland finalists, and then meet the South Auckland finalists at Huntly or Hamilton. The Belmont and Ponsonby Club delegates supported this opinion, and the committee decided to ask the council if it could not adhere to the arrangements of previous seasons in requiring the Auckland finalists to travel to South Auckland, and the North Auckland finalists to travel to Auckland.
